Is trash picked up on Memorial Day 2027?

Memorial Day 2027 falls on Mon, May 31, 2027. Whether your trash is picked up depends on your city: here is what each city on this site publishes for 2027 and 2026.

The short answer

Date	Mon, May 31, 2027
Other year	2026: Mon, May 25, 2026
Rule for the date	last Monday of May.
Pattern in 2027	Of the 264 cities on this site, 3 delay pickup by a day, 3 move the affected day’s pickup, 1 change pickup in another way, 2 make no change, 4 do not list it, 251 publish only a general rule.
Pattern in 2026	61 delay pickup by a day, 5 move the affected day’s pickup, 3 skip pickup without a make-up day, 13 change pickup in another way, 31 make no change, 14 do not list it, 137 publish only a general rule.

Counts come from each city’s published notice or holiday table; a city that has not yet published its 2027 list is counted as “publishes only a general rule” or “does not list it”, never guessed. Federal date: OPM federal holidays, checked October 30, 2026.
