About Trash Day Guide
Trash Day Guide answers one question for every large US city: when is my trash picked up, and what changes this week?
City trash information is spread across public works pages, PDF calendars, news posts that expire and apps that only answer one address at a time. We put each city’s rules on one page: who collects, how often, how to find your day, the holiday schedule for the year, bulk trash, recycling, yard waste, drop-off sites and who to call about a missed pickup. Next to every fact is a link to the official page it comes from and the date we checked it.
We publish 264 city pages today and are working through every US city of 50,000 people or more, largest first; 86 more cities are in verification. National pages answer the questions cities don’t: is trash picked up on each holiday, how to get rid of specific items and what the big private haulers publish.
Independent
Trash Day Guide is an independent reference. Not affiliated with any city, county or hauler. Hauler names appear only to identify whose schedule a page describes; we use no logos and nothing that looks official.
Accuracy
People act on this information the same day, so we use official sources only and never fill a gap with a guess: when a city does not publish something, the page says “Not published by the city” and links to the city. The methodology explains the two-pass checks and the update calendar. If something has changed, tell us.
