Larger multi-family and commercial properties are open market: they contract with a City-licensed hauler. Service requests go to the City's 24-hour Neighbor Support Center (954-828-8000).1

Fort Lauderdale holiday trash schedule 2026

City’s ruleRegular collection on all holidays except Christmas Day, when there is no collection. The City announces Christmas make-up arrangements on its Collection Programs page each year (for Christmas 2025: no make-up for garbage, recycling and yard waste on the following Sunday, bulk on the following Monday). WM's Fort Lauderdale page states a general rule that when Christmas falls on a weekday the rest of the week's collections move one day later; the City's 2025 notice did not follow that pattern, so the City notice governs.1
